Located on the coast, this is a modern town which boasts excellent beaches and tourist facilities frequented by numerous families, many of whom own a second residence here.
Further inland, it contains spots which are typical of the Axarquia region, such as the adjacent district of Benagalbon, and the town is also home to interesting monuments such as Bezmiliana Castle, named after the first settlement to be founded in the AREA.
Without doubt, a must for the visitor is Cueva del Higueron cave, also known as Cueva del Tesoro, in La Cala del Moral, a fine example of a marine cave formation.
