Valle de Almanzora
Description
The Valle del Almanzora region is in the inland area of Almería. Its towns sit on both sides of the River Almanzora, which runs through the whole region, forming its backbone. You have to go up the River Almanzora, overflowing with flowering almond trees, orange trees and orchards, to discover the contrasts of its valley. From that point on you will be taken aback by the monumental character of a mountain range with exposed white seams: marble, the raison d’être for almost all of the riverside towns that live next to the mountains.
Culinary delights include hearty fennel soup, fried rabbit dish, gurullos (small dumplings) with hare, stewed partridge and suspiros de almendra (almond-flavoured dessert).
Visitors will enjoy a tour of the towns of Macael, Olula del Río and many others.
Discover all of the beauty of the towns in the Valle del Almanzora region.
