Granada's fiesta arrives and the locals head onto the streets to enjoy this special day to the full. Corpus atmosphere and dress overflow throughout the city over these days.

Men, women, children, young and older folk alike, all take part in the different activities on the programme (theatre, concerts, shows…). You will find everything you need to enjoy one of the city's most joyful traditions to the full.

The Fair itself begins on the Monday before Corpus Christi Thursday, and ends the following Sunday. You can enjoy a procession with one of Andalusia's most beautiful monstrances. The whole city heads out to the fair ground on the edge of Granada, with marquees and all kinds of attractions – a place to drink, eat, dance and have fun with the happy, lively crowd.

On the day before Corpus Christi you will see the “Tarasca” parade. It is designed principally for children and youngsters, and has a female mannequin wearing the coming summer's fashions, riding on the back of a legendary dragon, escorted by “giants and big-heads”. All this is a taster for Thursday, when the centre of attention is the traditional, unusual, civic-religious procession, with a parading entourage of horses, bands, traditional choirs and dance groups...

All week long, in Plaza Bib-Rambla Square, you can see the “Carocas”, where the year's most important events are satirised in drawings and verses. Meanwhile, at the fair ground, there is non-stop fun with horse and carriage parades in the mornings, fairground attractions in the afternoon/evenings and festive atmosphere in the marquees by night. At midnight on Sunday there is a monumental “castle” of fireworks and the traditional “trueno gordo” (a huge firecracker), to mark the end of the celebrations until the following year.
