Frailes
The village is situated to the south of the province, in the southern mountains, near the limit with the province of Granada. Its rugged landscape is covered with olive trees.
History
The sources of cold hidro-sulphurous waters of Los Frailes and La Rivera were famous, but now no longer exist.The Condestable Lucas de Iranzo formed his troops in this village when preparing for the conquest of Moclin.
In 1495, the village was called Arrabal Exterior or Nava de Frailes and belonged to Alcalá la Real.
After several attempts since the beginning of the century, in 1835 the village finally separated from Alcala la Real.
