Paradas
Locality belonging to the Campiña district, located near el Arahal, amongst a landscapte composed of hills and farming land used to grow cereals and herbaceous plants.
The most interesting monument of the village is the parish church of San Eutropio.
History
The first settlements date back to Roman times. It seems that in the surroundings there existed a roman village called Calla.
Only a few artefacts of the period of Al-Andalus have been found.
Its origin is related to the place where the caravans stopped to have the animals drink. The village was founded in 1460 by Juan Ponce de León, marquis of Cadiz. It was granted a Town Charter by the king Enrique. Old Christians from Astorga and Leon came to settle here. Local expressions and names still reveal the northern origins of many of the families of the village
In 1781 it became independent, having been administered by Marchena until that date.
