Protected Landscape

An area is declared a Protected Landscape by Decree passed by the Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía.

Natural Landmark

Natural Landmarks are nature areas or elements mainly consisting of unique, rare or outstanding formations, that deserve special protection.

Geological formations, palaeontological digs and other geological elements that are of special interest due to the uniqueness or importance of their scientific, cultural or landscape features can also be considered to be Natural Monuments.

An area or element is declared a Natural Monument by Decree passed by the Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía.

Nature Reserves Near Towns

Nature Reserves Near Towns are areas, created by man or not, that meet the town's needs.

An area is declared a Nature Reserve Near a Town by Order passed by the Department of Environment of the Junta de Andalucía.

Nature Site

Nature Sites are areas with special eligibility requirements to be declared of special interest, which are declared as such in order to preserve their flora, fauna, geomorphological formations, outstanding beauty or other characteristics.

An area is declared a Nature Site by Andalusian Parliament Law.
