This public caseta will be that formerly used by Abengoa, with three modules, on Calle Pascual Márquez 225

The April Fair in Seville will for the first time this year have a "caseta" dedicated specifically for use by tourists. The mayor of the Andalusian capital, Juan Espadas, made this announcement and said the measure is in response to “a demand and a deficiency that has been dragging on for years and that has been pointed out by professionals of the sector and by hotel owners, who claim that visitors arrive to the Fair and do not know where to go or whether or not they may enter a caseta”.

“Let's start to debunk the myth that this fiesta is closed and exclusive for the people of Seville”, he claimed, insisting in that it be a “public house open to all, though with a clear vocation for service to foreigners who stay at hotels in the city, wherefore we have been working in collaboration with the association of hotels and tourism companies”.

As the Mayor explained, this caseta has two modules that formerly belonged to the Abengoa company, on Calle Pascual Márquez 225, and that no longer wishes to keep it. In remaining free, the Town Council decided to dedicate it to public use and, especially, to visitors “who come to the Fair and really do not know where to go and which casetas they may enter".

This year, there will be at least one caseta "as a reference point of where to go and with specific services for foreign tourists, like a cashpoint and translators of English, French, German or Chinese. There will also be planned performances, Sevillanas, flamenco and option of booking for lunch and dinner at times that are more similar to those of the country of origin”.

For Espadas, is a “debt with this sector that has accumulated over a long time, and which requires being addressed, given the high number of tourists we are happy to host in Seville. It is a pilot project that responds to an analysis on those aspects requiring improvement”.
