The Malaga town will have a theme park on eight hectares, inspired by the work of the author
At the end of 2015, Rincón de la Victoria will have a theme park based on the world of JRR Tolkien, creator of “The Hobbit “and “The Lord of the Rings”, which will be called La Comarca. The project, which will have a surface area of eight hectares and an investment of €1.7 million, was presented today at the Malaga Costa del Sol stand at the international tourism fair.
The park will be divided into various areas, each with a particular idiosyncrasy. At the entrance, the visitor will find himself in a welcome area from where the rest of the park begins. The route will start at the City Park, an area with easy access, next to the parking area, where visitors will find all kinds of comforts and stimulation for the senses. It is conceived for those who want to enjoy the park without going too far. It will have flooring that is pleasant to walk on and the vegetation will be of great importance for creating cosy surroundings that are full of fantasy and reminiscent of fairy tales.
One of the most important areas in the park will be the Adventure Area, where there will be themed items and attractions inspired by stories of elves and fairies, which will give the surroundings the magical atmosphere intended. There will be two themed figures as games areas that will be six metres high. Integrated into these, there will be climbing walls, swings, slides, and different play and adventure items. There will be a recreation of hobbit-type houses that allude to the thematic universe of JRR Tolkien, like the rest of the park.
The La Comarca park will also offer the possibility of doing activities that are purely sporting such as hiking, cycling or jogging thanks to its Network of Footpaths that will run across the park connecting each of the areas. The whole place will have lots of trees, creating a nice shade that will entice you to stroll and do sports. This will be, without a doubt, one of its most appealing points, as visitors will have an area where they can do sport surrounded by nature, despite being in an urban environment.
