Cogollos de la Vega
Cogollos Vega, a few kilometres away from the city of the Alhambra, is a part of the Natural Park of the Sierra de Huétor, an AREA of medium mountain ranges with dense vegetation of holm and gall oaks. In the town centre, one can visit the 17th century Parish Church, which contains an image of the Purísima, attributed to Alonso Cano. Its Arab Baths are also of great interest.
History
The proximity to the capital has always marked its history. The lands of the Valley have been inhabited from Prehistoric times.Its name may derive from the Pre-Islamic toponym Quqululus.
