Located 8 km north-west of Barbate, Los Caños de Meca is a highly touristic area, focusing on its varied and good beaches, some of whom are nude, which extend from Trafalgar Cape to the cliffs of La Breña. The cape is protected under the Natural Monument of Tómbolo de Trafalgar, while the cliffs are part of the Natural Park of La Breña y Marismas de Barbate, along with the pine forest that covers its top and a strip sea.

From the village to the cliffs, the famous Caños appear to give name to the area. These are freshwater springs in the cliff wall of a different flow, from small wetlands on the rock wall to major springs, which vary widely depending on the season and time of rainfall. Most important, the Caño Grande, is almost at the end of the cliff, with a very complicated access and only accessible at low tide.
