Centro de Interpretación Ambiental de Riofrío

Situated in the neighbourhood of Riofrío, Loja, the Environmental Centre of Riofrío in the town of Poniente Granadino carries out a series of environmental education projects, for people of all ages.

It offers a wide range of activities in the countryside: environmental education, outdoor activities, ethnographic information about the folk culture, etc.

It tells the Centre Environment of Riofrío with large facilities: outside it offers a botanical garden with species that are native and endemic to Granada, and inside it has reproductions of the fauna and flora of the Sierra de Loja, several fossil and mineral exhibitions, a new Fishing Museum, a reproduction of the natural habitat of Riofrío and a handmade model of the whole of Poniente Granadino. The same building houses a temporary exhibition room, a conference room and a fully equipped Nature Room.
