Postigo de la Estrella

Important remains of the town´s ancient Moorish wall can be found next to Plaza del Carmen, such as the tower of El Asalto and the freestanding albarrana tower of La Estrella.

Connected to the wall by means of a semi-circular arch, an opening or postern was created alongside the tower after the Conquest to provide access to the walled quarter. The distinctive Moorish flavour of this corner of Andalusia evokes bygone days.
