Tour to the Caminito del Rey with admission tickets included

The tour takes in a unique natural environment along a stunning track through the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes gorge in the province of Málaga. The name "Caminito del Rey" dates back to 1921 when King Alfonso XIII walked along the path after opening the Conde de Guadalhorce dam and reservoir, a route created by the Sociedad Hidroeléctrico del Chorro. The passage of time and disuse caused major deterioration and it became the most dangerous trail in Europe, with a number of casualties.

After magnificent refurbishment, the Caminito de Rey was re-opened in 2015 and it can now be walked with out any risk, with a part that was constructed when the power station of El Chorro was built. The route runs between the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba reservoir and the town of El Chorro. The route runs parallel to the railway lines and during the walk you can enjoy the renowned tour of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes y el Gaitanejo gorge, with parts where it is barely one metre wide.

The tour starts in the municipal district of Ardales and ends in that of Álora. The route is 7 km long, it has been well prepared and is completely safe. At a gentle, relaxed pace the tour usually takes about two and a half hours.
