Arquillos
The village is situated at the foot of the Sierra Morena Mountains, next to the Guadalén Reservoir, in a hilly landscape covered with olive trees.
History
It is the natural gateway to the Condado area and was founded in the 18th century within the Sierra Morena New Colonization Towns Plan, carried out by Olavide, a minister of King Carlos III.
Legend has it that the traveller Cosme de Medicis passed through the town.
It belonged to the Duchy of Arcos.
