Archaeological site of the Salting Factory
The salting factory was discovered in Cádiz on the site of the former Teatro Andalucía in 1995. It is a large Roman salting factory, part of which has been fully conserved in the basement of the new building.
The surviving area is a sector of troughs of different sizes coated — as was common at the time — in hydraulic cement, with reinforced corners to avoid filtrations and a central dip for cleaning.
