Sephardic Route
In the company of Cicerones Gaditanos, you'll discover the footprint that the Sephardic Culture left on the streets of Cadiz, in a significant proportion of its streets and monumental buildings.
During this route, we'll appreciate a diversity of monumental remains of the Sephardic Culture, generated by the Jews born and raised in Spain until their expulsion in 1492, as well as the characteristics of their descendants whom, beyond residing in Iberian territory or other geographies across the planet, remain linked to this quite interesting fragment of Hispanic Culture.
The route includes visits to monuments, related places and details exhibited on buildings of both private homes and commercial premises. Route: Starting point: from Calle Buenos Aires; 1.- Calle Ancha along Calle San Miguel to the Tavira Tower and the Palace of the Dukes of Recaño; 2.- Calle Sacramento to the Candelaria Plaza and Calle Obispo Urquinaona; 3.- Calle Compañía, Plaza of the Cathedral; 4.- Almirante Palace; 5.- Jabonería hill, Calle Moros, Lasquestty House, Santa María neighbourhood; 6.- Calle Suárez de Salazar; 7.- Calle San Francisco; 8.- Totem dedicated to the Sephardic Jews that left Cadiz in 1944 and explanation; 9.- end of route at Las Tortugas Plaza.
