Chimeneas, is located in the fertile flat lands of the Vega de Granada, a wide AREA covered with the greenery of the poplar trees and the well looked after irrigated plains that the river Genil waters in its gentle flow towards the west wide. It enjoys not only its location in these fertile lands but also its proximity to the city of the Alhambra.
HistoryIt was called Dullan by the Moors, although it has presumably more ancient origins.
Until 1789 it was recorded as a farmhouse AREA dependent on the municipality of Granada. The so-called Earthquake of Andalusia, which struck at Christmas in 1884, destroyed several houses and caused severe damage to its church.
