22th Wine and Chacina Festival
With the proximity of the Christmas festivities and after the traditional slaughter of pigs, the town of Colmenar organises one of its great festivals "Wine and Chacina (cured meats) Day”. This festival is usually held in mid-December, and every year the number of visitors increases as they come to taste the typical products offered on the famous Tapas Route.
The quality of the land for growing vines, including the Muscatel grape, is the reason for the excellent must that accompanies the exquisite dishes that are prepared on this special day, such as migas breadcrumbs or the famous Montes dish.
Visitors can enjoy an extensive programme of activities with shows by Verdiales groups, flamenco, workshops and fun for children.
It has been declared a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest.
