The most important festivity in Écija is Easter Week, which has been declared of "National Tourist Interest". Every year, the locals and visitors from every corner come together to anxiously and fervently await the processions of the town's statues.
These include Cristo de la Salud, a carving from 1500, Cristo de la Yedra, a carving from 1630 attributed to Juan de Mesa, Cristo de la Expiración, a carving from 1729 attributed to Montes de Oca, Cristo de la Sangre, a piece made Gaspar del Águila in 1567, and the procession of Santo Entierro, whose urn is made of wood and covered by fine sheets of tortoiseshell with silver inlays, made in 1711.
