This small village is situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, to the west of the province, in a landscape of orchards, cereal fields and olive groves.

History

For some historians, this was the Roman village of Silpia, famous during the campaign of Scipio Africanus in the Peninsula.
A well preserved castle is the only remains of the al-Andalus period.
The Christian conquest was carried out by King Alfonso X. It was then given to the Earl of Santisteban.
