Protected by the silhouette of the Fatetar Castle, Espera in the province of Cádiz organises a 16 kilometre race the day after Epiphany, a good part of the race is through the streets of this lovely village, situated at the the gate to the mountains and on the route of the White Villages.

The Turkey Marathon is the most important sporting event in the zone and its popularity increases each year. As can been seen in the number of participants. The starting pistol goes off in "calle de Los Toros", where runners of both sexes and all ages set off on this race with the hope of being first past the finishing line.
