The Department of Culture and Sport of the Regional Government of Andalusia, with the collaboration of the Board of the Alhambra and Generalife, established the Lorca and Granada Programme in 2002.

The figure of Federico García Lorca and the universal knowledge of his work combined with the evocative power of flamenco have become–over the years–the perfect formula for the expression of Andalusia's cultural potential. As an effective channel to enable visitors to discover the creative excellence of our land and Andalusian viewers to recognise themselves in the work of their outstanding performers,

Antonio Gades, Mario Maya, José Antonio, Pepa Gamboa, Blanca Li, Cristina Hoyos, José Carlos Plaza, Eva Yerbabuena and Rubén Olmo have signed the creations presented in previous editions.
