Huelva and Islantilla: Adapted Tourist Destinations for Everyone in Andalusia

14/07/2023
Playa de Islantilla

The province of Huelva and the municipality of Islantilla are benchmarks for inclusive tourism in Andalusia. This summer, Islantilla is launching an assisted bathing service for people with reduced mobility, so everyone can enjoy the area's 12+ km coastline.

Until 15 September, the spectacular Islantilla beach will have instructors who will help everyone enjoy the sea. The Islantilla Tourism Department has implemented this service, in collaboration with the Rescue and Lifeguard team. Located in the accessible shaded area, between the Central Post and the iconic Titanic Bar, this service is available from 12 midday to 2pm and from 5.30pm to 7.30pm until 1 July. The service is extended to morning and afternoon between 2 July and 15 September. In September, only in the morning.

Aimed at people with reduced mobility, this service has amphibious chairs for adults and children, mobility chairs and adapted walkers to help people bathe in the Huelva coast.

If you're interested, please book a slot by calling 722 316 852 or by going to the assistance point.

At the same time, the efficient Rescue and Lifeguard Service, with 17 professionals, is working between 11.30am and 8pm to keep everyone safe on the crowded beach of Islantilla.

Thanks to these initiatives, the province of Huelva and the municipality of Islantilla are an example of an inclusive destination, with natural, heritage and tourist resources for everyone to enjoy. This makes for accessible holidays for everyone on the Huelva coast. Come and discover Huelva and its unique spots like Islantilla.
