Antonia Gilabert Vargas was born in Cádiz in 1925 and died in 1975 in this same capital She became a singer in her own house listening to her mother, Rosa la Papera, creator of numerous styles of 'cantiñas´ Some attribute 'bulerías´ to La Perla, which she made popular She exercised a lot of influence on Camarón, above all on performing the festive styles from Cadiz, of which Antonia created a school which still stays alive She didn´t record many records, but all those she did conserve the character of a singer full of nuances and with an incredible sense of rhythm
