Almazara Hacienda Guzmán
The olive oil history of Hacienda Guzmán dates back more than five centuries, when Hernando Colón, the son of Christopher Columbus, exported the olive oil produced at the Hacienda to the Americas.
Between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, each of the three towers of the hacienda housed a beam mill, making it one of the largest olive oil factories in the world. Today, Hacienda Guzmán, which has a mill and a mahogany beam of 15 metres in length dating from the 17th century, offers a faithful recreation of the traditional process and is a reflection of the reality of the current olive sector with innovative facilities that allow the most select olive oil to be produced.
Located just 15 minutes from Seville's train station, and ten minutes from the airport, surrounded by 340 hectares of organic olive groves, Hacienda Guzmán opens the door to a leading centre for oleotourism. Visit its facilities and you will appreciate the extraordinary richness and complexity of the world of olive oil in an unparalleled environment. In addition, Hacienda Guzmán is home to one of the largest olive museums in the world. More than 150 varieties from 13 countries allow us to appreciate the extraordinary richness and complexity of the world of olive oil.
The trajectory of Hacienda Guzman as a centre of production for olive oil for over 500 years informs visitors about the culture, history and traditions linked to the olive sector. It therefore values the consumption of extra virgin olive oil as the basis of our gastronomy and cultural identity in Andalusia. For this reason, the visits are managed by the Juan Ramón Guillén Foundation, an institution based at the hacienda whose objective is the promotion of the development of the Andalusian olive sector, guaranteeing its survival over time.
Public attention: Monday to Thursday working days from 8:30 h to 18:00 h and Friday working days from 8:00 h to 15:00 h.
