Easter Week in Linares

Easter Week in Linares is one of the main cultural and religious events Linares (Jaén) and a tourist attraction.

It was declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia in 1998, and features the bands leading the fraternities and brotherhoods, the groups of trumpeters, the guild statuary, and especially, the release of the prisoner in the Brotherhood of the Release, the reading of the sentence at the arrest of Nuestro Padre Jesús, the blessing of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno who, with his articulated arm, greets visitors gathering along the way in the early morning of Maundy Thursday to Good Friday, and finally the Ceremony of the Expiry on the Calle Marqués, where thousands of people gather to witness the death of Christ.
