Morelábor
The municipality of Morelábor comprises Moreda and Laborcillas and is located in Hoya de Guadix, in an area that was inhabited by the first Prehistoric civilizations in the Iberian Peninsula, as proven by the archaeological remains found in the hill of Los Castellones.
History
In the Middle Ages it was a borderline that suffered constant Christian incursions, hostility and robbery on the hands of the Castilian horsemen stationed in Cazorla who would attack the Muslim area of Guadix. It was conquered by the Catholic Monarchs as a preamble to the taking of Granada.
In 1974 it became what it is presently after the merging of the municipalities of Moreda and Laborcillas.
