Rafael del Águila y Aranda was born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1900 and died there in 1976 He was a guitarist who was always in the shadow of other great artists, because he almost exclusively spent his life giving lessons However, all the current guitarists from Jerez were taught by him following Javier Molina's school, from whom he had learnt He is one of the few flamenco guitarists who studied music at the beginning of the century, which proved very useful for his job as a teacher
