Restábal, together with Melegí­s and Saleres, are part of the municipality of El Valle, which is in the Valle de Lecrí­n. It is located on the west face of Sierra Nevada and nearby the reservoir of Béznar.

Restábal houses the Town Hall and the municipal service department.
