Our Roots show presents flamenco in all its facets (guitar, song and dance) and is full of feeling. People are amazed as we try to present the roots that Ronda provided for Flamenco, with contributions from La Rondeña, La Serrana, La Caña, El Polo and La Toná. These contributions that took root in Ronda and the Serranía and the great singer-songwriters that this town has given to history, make Ronda one of the vertices of the famous "cante flamenco" triangle formed by Seville, Cádiz and Ronda. These are our roots, forged by a people who sang of grief, love and joy, of its people and its customs and can be enjoyed everywhere from its most popular origins to the music cafés and the "tablaos". Ronda is a leader in this field and opened its first "tablao" in 1834, called "Café del Teatro" where lovers of Flamenco and bullfighting attended frequently. In time more "tablaos" would open in Calle Carrera Espinel 5, Calle Sevilla 4, Café-Madrid and Café-La Unión.
