Things to do
San Luis de los Franceses, consecrated in 1731 became the best example of Baroque in Seville. Unbeknown to most people in Seville, it has reopened after being closed to the public for 10 years.
It is an outstanding 18th century Baroque architectural complex. It was designed by architect Leonardo de Figueroa and built between 1699 and 1731, commissioned by the Society of Jesus. The church was called “San Luis de los Franceses” ("Saint Louis of the French"), as a tribute to Saint Louis, King of France and cousin of King Saint Ferdinand.
Discover with GuiArte three different spaces within the same complex – the church itself, the domestic chapel and the crypt. Thanks to GuiArte you have the chance to visit and discover this wonderful Jesuit church, unique in Seville and quite possibly one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in Andalusia.
