Visit to Doñana National Park - 2 days and 1 night

Our two-day trip to Doñana National Park will start in the morning of the first day with our guide picking you up at your accommodation in Seville or the surrounding area.

The departure time will depend on the time of year and the behavior of the animals that our guides observe in the days prior to your visit.

The first destination on this exciting tour will be the wetland area in the northern part of Doñana Natural Park. There we will enjoy a unique landscape where rice is grown and hundreds of birds flock together in the most important marshland in Europe. The Guadalquivir and Guadiamar rivers are mainly responsible for the orography of the land and the water supply to the marshland and rice fields.

We will continue the route through the northern area of Doñana National Park until we reach the village of El Rocío, Huelva. A unique town of typical marshland houses, with sandy streets where the locals ride horses and where time seems to have stood still. After going for a walk along its streets we will arrive at the shrine, which is the sacred place of the world-famous pilgrimage of El Rocío. It houses the famous Virgen del Rocío. Every year one million pilgrims and devotees congregate in this place at one of the world's most important expressions of religious devotion.

We will leave the village of El Rocío to continue learning about other ecosystems in Doñana. Our next destination will be the Acebrón Palaces and the area of Arroyo de la Rocina, where we will enjoy a circular path in which we will discover the main peculiar features of a gallery forest. At the end of the trail you will be able to take a short break to taste the local gastronomy in one of the most unique bars or restaurants in the area.

Our next destination will be Matalascañas Beach. Doñana's beach is over 30 km long and the longest unspoilt beach in Spain. We will get to know the plant and animal species that live here, and also the process of formation of their unique mobile dunes. Weather permitting, we may even be able to take a refreshing dip in the evening.

Then we will return to El Rocío where you can enjoy some free time and get settled in your rural accommodation, and then enjoy a good dinner at one of the bars or restaurants in the village.

The next morning, after breakfast, we will resume our trip and visit other spots and ecosystems in Doñana. We will stop at the Acebuche Palace, where the Iberian lynx conservation project, the most threatened feline on the planet, has been carried out for years. We will go on a tour of the most wooded restricted area of the National Park, where we will have the chance to see some of the large mammals that inhabit Doñana.

After enjoying the morning activity, we will enjoy a delicious lunch and a final rest before heading back to Seville having made lots of memories on our exciting getaway to Donana.
