In September, an increasingly popular nocturnal event takes place during the fair in Adra: A horse race on the Playa de San Nicolás beach. It is an individual race and jockeys of both genders can take part.

In spring, the pilgrimage of San Marcos also involves hundreds of people on horseback accompanying the Patron Saint in this town which has a real equine tradition.
