Biography

Francisco José Arcángel Ramos was born in Huelva in 1977. At ten years of age he was already an artist, since he performed the 'fandango´ styles of his homeland to perfection. It is in turn not surprisingly that, on various occasions he won the prize that the Orden de Huelva Club organises yearly for the youngsters of the area. This is what motivated him to dedicate himself professionally to singing.

He went to work in Sevilla at an early age, where he entered into contact with dance, currently practising this profession. He sang for Cristina HoyosIsrael GalvánJavier BarónEl Pipa and, above all, Eva la Yerbabuena, to whose company he has belonged for years. He became an established artist in the Biennial Flamenco Exhibition in 1998, where he was in demand by an infinite number of artists.

It was at this moment that he started his solo career, topped for the moment by his first record, "Arcángel". After the death of Paco Toronjo, he is the expert of 'fandangos de Huelva´ and his 'alosnero´ styles, but on top of this Arcángel has demonstrated to be an artist with an ample repertoire, capable of using his voice for the CaracolEl PeleEnrique Morente, El Pinto or Carmen Linares schools of music.

Discography

In his beginnings, he records two records with other artists, “Solo compás” (1998), “Historia Antológica del Fandango de Huelva” (1999) and in 2003 “Territorio Flamenco”.

His solo discography starts in 2001, with “Arcángel” where he captivates both critics and the public. In 2004, he releases “La calle perdía”, two years later in 2006, “Ropavieja” and in 2008 pays homage to Manolo Caracol with his show Zambra 5.1. The CD “De Oscura Llama” is released in 2009 and “Quijote de los sueños” in 2011.

"Las idas y las vueltas: Músicas Mestizas" dates back to 2012, the show of which he is also awarded, together with Fahmi Alqhai el Giraldillo, the Best Music of the Seville Flamenco Biennial. The record “Tablao” is released in 2015.
