The Laguna Grande information centre is in the area near the lagoon, and its primary aim is to familiarise visitors in a fun and simple way with the natural resources of this nature area. It describes the history of the origins of the Laguna Grande, which is closely linked to the history of the Hacienda Laguna Grande estate.

Its typical wetland vegetation is home to a large number of species, including particularly its community of water birds, of which the most emblematic species in this protected area is the purple coot.
