Baza is the largest city of the plateau and also the nerve and shopping centre. It is located to the northeast of the province of Granada and is also the capital of the region of Baza (or La Hoya de Baza) comprising eight municipalities.

Visitors to this city will find an interesting museum, quiet Moorish alleys with houses with balconies and their Arab baths.
