This interesting and varied group of buildings, from different periods, holds relics of Saint Teresa of Jesus and Saint John of the Cross. It was declared of Cultural Interest in 1979.

The church has a beautiful 17th-century Baroque door. Inside there is one nave, with a tunnel vault and semi-circular transept wings.

The Carmelitas Descalzas de San José del Salvador Convent was founded by Saint Teresa of Jesus on 24 February 1575. It was the tenth convent she founded, and the first one in Andalusia. She stayed there for three months. In 1578, Saint John of the Cross arrived in the town. There are commemorative statues at the entrance of the town, which remind everyone of their close relationship with the town of Beas.
