One of the tourist-cultural events which has had most impact on the town of Beas de Segura is the Festival of San Marcos, also known as the “Toro Ensogao” (Roped Bull), held in this town in the district of Segura and which is deeply rooted in the traditions of the province of Jaén. This festival was declared National Festival of Tourist Interest in Andalusia in 2008.
Although the main festivities take place around the festival of San Marcos, the programme of events continues throughout the month of April round, making Beas the centre of attention at this time for those interested in the world of bullfighting.
