In Castellar Zoo we can find the recreational area of "Cerro del Moro," on the outskirts of the town of Castellar de la Frontera.

Castellar Zoo faithfully recreates the natural environment of Los Alcornocales Nature Reserve and aims to promote environmental education through talks, exhibitions and awareness-raising campaigns.

In the facilities of Castellar Zoo, a team of professionals draw up conservation and captive breeding plans, thus increasing the biological knowledge of the zoo's animal and plant species. Over the years, it has been renewing and enriching its collection until reaching its current situation, with more than 500 animals of nearly 120 different species from the five continents, especially highlighting the giant albino porcupine, a unique specimen in the world.

There is a timetable for guided tours and special performances (bird and reptile displays) that help visitors to better appreciate the abilities and customs of the animals, always respecting their dignity and avoiding abnormal or demeaning situations for them.
