The parish church of San Juan Bautista dates from the redistribution following the recapture of Ecija, forming part of one of the four parishes into which the village of Ecija was divided.

It is one of the city's unfinished churches, and follows the model of the famous basilica of Saint John Lateran in Rome.

The earliest records of the church date back to the 16th century. Whilst a lot of important work was carried out in the following century, the real transformation of the church took place in the 18th century, with construction of the tower, the most beautiful in Ecija.

Admission to church and tower: 2€.

Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Sunday, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. (access to the tower to noon). Monday, closed
