Biography
José María Álvarez was born in Morón in the last quarter of the 19th century. There is hardly any information about his life but we do know that he was a pupil of Paco el de Lucena, according to Fernando el de Triana. Based on his way of playing, the so-called "escuela de toque" (playing school) was developed in Morón de la Frontera.
