There are two different versions of how this church, the Chapel of Rosario, came to be. The first one says that the Virgin Mary appeared to a baker on Calle Capita, so the local priest,
Primitivo Tarancón Gallo, erected this church nearby. The second version also includes the parish priest, but this time, as he was thankful for becoming priest in this parish, he built the church dedicated to the Our Lady of the Rosary.

The process of buying the land where the chapel is located began in 1916. The chapel is popularly known as the bird house, due to the number of birds that used to live in it, as it used to be a barn.

The chapel was blessed and opened on 21 November 1920 and the congregation of El Rosario was established there. The church was damaged in 1936, due to the political situation of the time.

The founders of the current Brotherhood of the Vera Cruz y Rosario then decided to refurbish the Chapel of El Rosario in order to open it and establish the
brotherhood there.

Numerous improvements have been made since then.

Recently, in 2019, two niches were built to house the images of Santa Angela de la Cruz and the Immaculate Conception, as well as a main altarpiece with pieces from the old image of the Holy Christ and alcove, next to the niche's marbling at the back of altarpiece.
