Fairs and Fiestas in Estepona

With the arrival of July, from the first Tuesday of this month until Sunday, Estepona gets ready to live its Main Fairs and Fiestas. For six days and nights, everything is a fiesta, because the Fair immerses everything in that special atmosphere that only Andalusia offers. This is the time of year when its splendour outdoes itself, when both residents and tourists come together to enjoy a few days of fun, when the bustle entices everyone to go outside, eat and dine at the terraces and houses, and meet with friends.

Sun and Joy overflow everywhere. At night, the fairground is lit up by thousands of light bulbs, and dresses up in colour, music and fun. The fair at night belongs to the marquees, of typical Andalusian atmosphere, with amusement rides for children, noise and bustle, tombolas, the scent of grilled octopus and candyfloss, sneaking hours from one's sleep and ending up eating churros with hot chocolate at dawn.

 
The sound of fireworks announce the start of the fair. The fairground lights turn on and the Fair is inaugurated, the amusement park comes to life and the music starts playing in the marquees. Throughout the week there are a series of activities in the official marquee, like a children's party, celebrations for retirees and performances of renown orchestras, flamenco groups and artists.
