Galera Wine Tasting

While it is true that wine is made in several parts of the Huéscar region, it would be more accurate to say that the most traditional - as well as the most popular - wine is produced in
Galera.

This quintessential "local wine" or "vino de la tierra" is celebrated in the town every year at the end of February or beginning of March, usually coinciding with the long weekend for Andalusia Day (28 February)

Most of the local producers, as well as some of the local cava producers, take part in this now famous wine tasting event. Although some of the wines are now marketed far and wide, the vast majority are recommended for consumption in the same geographical location where they were produced, which is where their sensitive essences are best appreciated.
If you have the opportunity to try it, remember what the locals always say: "Galera wine won't make you drunk but it might make you sway".
