Making a wine of the highest quality in warm, southern Spain represents a real challenge, and that is the daily routine for Cezar Viñedos y Bodega, in Gaucín.

Located in the Serrania de Ronda mountains, it produces wines where quality is more important than quantity: its production is limited and exclusive.

The vineyard is 680 metres above sea level, in a cool area between two rivers: the Guadiaro and the Genal. With limestone soil, the vineyards face West, where the mountains protect them from excessive cold. During the winter, it snows and night and day temperatures vary greatly, which generates thick-skinned grapes, a condition that is required to produce the very dense colour. The long, warm summer ripens the grapes as well as possible increasing their sugar concentration. All of these factors contribute to creating optimum conditions for growing the best grapes.

The guided tour of Cezar Viñedos y Bodega allows us to get to know the production facilities, take part in a wine tasting and sample a buffet of hot and cold tapas.

You can also organise special events, such as weddings. The vineyards will be open for group visits from Monday to Friday during the season (1 March to 31 May and 1 September to 31 October). The tour starts at midday and usually ends at 4pm. The minimum price of the tour per group is €375 (up to 15 people, all inclusive). The price for each additional visitor is €25 and a maximum of 30 people are accepted.
