José Álvarez and Carlos Nestares have revived Las Tinajas and transformed it into a culinary landmark in Granada, the home of the Generalife.

The menu features typical dishes such as broad beans with ham, the fried fish platter and the legendary Sacromonte omelette. There are numerous dishes with names which conjure up far-distant times, such as Nazarí, Mozarabic, and la Cartuja, in which each mouthful triggers a host of evocative associations. Highlights include the finely-sliced cod with king crab and four vinaigrettes.

Las Tinajas offers a heated terrace with its own winery. Its wines are Rosado Ribera del Duero Las Tinajas, Las Tinajas Ribera del Duero, Heritage (94 points Parker guide) and Paraje of San Juan.
