This year the flamenco show “Así Canta Jerez en Navidad” (This is how Jerez sings at Christmas) will have two performances. As it was so well received and popular with the audience last time, there will be two performances on consecutive days, 7 and 8 December at 8.30pm at Villamarta Theatre.

This year the show is named after one of the new songs, “Mi Dios gitano” (My Gypsy God), a bulerías church song from Jerez. Presenting the best of their repertoire, combined with new features and songs.

Directed by Luis de Perikin, the show includes many important artists: singers Maloko Soto, Fania Zarzana, Joselete Mushogitano, Dolores de Perikin, Manuel de Cantarote, Rocío Valencia, José de la Melchora, Manuela de Perikin, Nono de Perokon, La Junkera, Antonia Pantoja, Sandra Zarzana, Ana Parrilla, Manuela Parrilla, La Junkerita; guitarists Fernando de la Morena, Nono Jero, Madriles Jero; and rhythm: Curro Santos, Juan Digo Valencia, Manuel Cantarote, Juan Diego Valencia Jr and Rafael Fernández. Sevillian flamenco dancer Pastora Galván will also be performing.

More than 20 artists altogether, hailing from the neighbourhood of Santiago de Jerez, come together once again to offer the best version of Flamenco Christmas

Villamarta Theatre confirms that “Así Canta Jerez en Navidad. Mi Dios gitano” meets all the health requirements established by the health authorities to prevent COVID-19 infection. It is, therefore, a safe space both for the audience and the performers. Measures include taking the temperature when entering the hall, mandatory use of face masks, reduced capacity, constant air renewal, disinfecting the hall, and hand sanitiser in common areas.
