Easter Week in Osuna

Easter week in Osuna has 10 brotherhoods with a total of 20 parade floats which they take out on procession from Palm Sunday to Easter Saturday. These floats parade with excellent sculptures by renowned artists like Juan de Mesa, José de Mora, Juan de Astorga and Vicente de Tena. They are at their most beautiful and harmonious when they parade through the streets of Osuna, which are an incomparable setting for appreciating the true brilliance of our Easter Week. The floats.

And in the background there are palaces, mansions and beautiful convents and churches which make the processions through our Ducal town even more spectacular. To this beauty we should also add the hard work done by the whole town which every spring shows its great vocation and, year after year, enables us to enjoy the unique images of the processions through the monumental streets, along winding, cobbled alleyways and up the steep slope leading to the Collegiate church. Historical, artistic and popular images and values that were deservedly recognised with the Declaration of Fiesta of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia, making it the greatest religious festival enjoyed by the town. Art, solemnity, colour, the aromas of incense and orange blossom, traditions, masterful sacred songs, monuments and unique beauty combine in Osuna to make our Easter Week an incomparable event difficult to describe in words but worthy of being discovered and enjoyed.
