The Santaella Archaeological and Ethnological Museum was founded as a result of public interest in keeping the Iberian and Ibero-Roman sculptures that had been appearing in sites at the beginning of the 1970s in the town.

In 1987 the Town Council implemented a project for the creation of the Santaella Archaeological and Ethnological Museum, which was installed in the Casa de Cultura. Its collection consists of palaeontological pieces, an abundance of archaeological features and ethnological items.
