Made by sculptor Sebastián Rojas (1973), it is a statue of Carmen, dressed in the typical costume of the Sevillian cigar makers.

This life-size statue is standing on a pedestal in front of Puerta del Príncipe gate, awaiting the triumphal exit of the bullfighter, on one side of Paseo de Cristóbal Colón.

It bears the following inscription: “Sevilla a Carmen” (“Seville to Carmen”).
